SAFTEY FIRST – It is very important that you understand when and how to perform plyometric training for tennis. Plyometrics can be a great addition to your tennis fitness program, but if done incorrectly or too often, you will end up injured. Before starting a ploymetric tennis fitness training program, please remember these simple guidelines Wear soft, comfortable and supportive shoes while engaging in a ploymetric tennis fitness training program Perform your ploymetric tennis fitness training program on a soft yet stable surface. A regular tennis court is NOT recommended. Our courts at HAT are custom made to be softer. Also, Lauren only did about 5 jumps of each variation. Get with a trained fitness professional before you start your ploymetric tennis fitness training program to ensure you have adequate functional and stabilization strength. Basically, if you are not strong enough or your body is unable to dynamically stabilize the various joints at work during the contraction spectrums, do not engage in a plyometric tennis fitness training program.
